Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field/Base Network Engineer to support the SMIT contract. The role focuses on BAN/LAN/WAN network operations, incident response, and COMSEC asset management for Navy networks. You will lead a technical team, interact with customers, and ensure security controls and policy compliance.

Qualifications include a DoD Secret clearance, CCNA/CCNP or higher, and 5+ years in network troubleshooting and configuration. Domestic travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in IT, engineering, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; MS/MBA with 2+ years may be substituted.
• DOD Secret Clearance with ability to upgrade to TS.
• DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP, etc.).
• Network vendor certification (e.g., CCNA/CCNP) or higher.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including potential OCONUS.
• Experience troubleshooting routing and switching issues in large networks.

Responsibilities

• Operate as an Operations-focused Network Engineer for BAN/LAN/WAN operations and related tasks.
• Provide COMSEC Local Element support, manage assets, and load keys into encryption devices.
• Document activities and maintain site documentation per procedures.
• Initiate software upgrades and changes to NGEN-R systems and infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace faulty hardware following SOPs and vendor guidance.
• Coordinate with NOC for incident troubleshooting and restoral.
• Support network configuration/asset management and documentation updates.
• Assist with cybersecurity requirements and STIG compliance.
• Coordinate upgrades and maintenance with program stakeholders.
• Travel as needed for on-site support and break/fix activities.
