Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field/Base Network Engineer to support the SMIT program for the Navy. The role involves leading a technical team, managing network operations, incident response, and COMSEC activities across NMCI-related architectures.

Expect to work in a dynamic, high-demand environment with travel and on-call requirements. Candidates should have DoD clearance, IAT Level II certifications, and 5+ years of routing/switching experience.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or MS/MBA with 2+ years of experience
• DoD Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS clearance
• DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certifications (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP SSCP, GSEC, CYSA+)
• Network vendor certifications (Cisco CCNA/CCNP or equivalent)
• Ability to travel 25% including possible OCONUS travel

Responsibilities

• Manage BAN/LAN/WAN network operations, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and configuration
• Provide COMSEC Local Element support and manage encryption assets
• Document activities and maintain site documentation
• Coordinate software upgrades and changes to NGEN-R system and infrastructure
• Maintain network configuration management and incident response coordination
• Support cybersecurity controls and STIG compliance
• Coordinate maintenance and upgrades with stakeholders
• Monitor health of network systems and implement corrective actions
