Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field/Base Network Engineer to support the SMIT contract. The role focuses on network operations, incident response, and COMSEC management within a DoD environment. You will manage a large distributed team and interface with government KOAMs, ensuring secure, reliable network services for NMCI and related architectures.

Candidates should have DoD clearance, CCNA/CCNP, and IAT II certifications. The position may require travel and onsite work at government facilities.

Qualifications

• DoD Secret clearance w/ ability to upgrade to TS clearance.
• DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification required before onboarding.
• Network vendor certifications (CCNA/CCNP) or higher.
• Experience troubleshooting complex routing and switching issues.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% including possible OCONUS travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large, virtual technical team to support incident response, change, and problem management.
• Coordinate with NGEN-R program and customer stakeholders on upgrades and maintenance.
• Monitor network health and implement corrective actions to prevent outages.
• Maintain network documentation reflecting as-is and to-be environments.
• Support cybersecurity requirements and STIG compliance.
