Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Operations-focused Field/Base Network Engineer to support BAN/LAN/WAN network operations, COMSEC, and system upgrades on the SMIT program. You’ll lead a technical team, troubleshoot complex routing/switching, and coordinate with government stakeholders in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting.

The role requires DoD Secret clearance, CCNA/CCNP, and 5+ years of hands-on networking experience, with travel up to 25% and occasional OCONUS assignments.

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience; MS/MBA with 2+ years acceptable.
• DoD Secret Security Clearance with ability to upgrade to TS.
• DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification required (Security+ CE, CDN, ISC2 SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, or CYSA+).
• Network Vendor Associate Level or higher Certification (Cisco CCNA/CCNP).
• Ability to be scheduled to work off hours and weekends.
• Willingness to travel 25% including possible OCONUS travel.
• 5+ years troubleshooting complex routing and switching issues.
• 5+ years configuring switches, routers, network appliances, WAN acceleration.
• Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead BAN/LAN/WAN network operations and troubleshooting.
• Provide COMSEC Local Element support and asset management.
• Document work activities and maintain site documentation.
• Initiate software upgrades to the NGEN-R system and network infrastructure.
• Perform maintenance and repair of hardware per SOPs.
• Interface with the NOC for incident troubleshooting and restoral.
• Support configuration drift management and network documentation.
• Assist with cybersecurity requirements and STIG compliance.
• Coordinate network upgrades with stakeholders and program.
• Monitor health/status of network systems and mitigate issues.
• Travel to sites for on-site operations as needed.
