Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field/Base Network Engineer to support the SMIT contract, focused on BAN/LAN/WAN operations, COMSEC, and network upgrades at a government site. You’ll lead a large technical team, manage incidents, and coordinate with program stakeholders in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting.

The role requires DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification, DoD security clearance with potential TS upgrade, and Cisco CCNA/CCNP credentials. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree with 4+ years of relevant experience; MS/MBA with 2+ years considered.
• DoD Secret Security Clearance with ability to upgrade to TS clearance.
• Must have DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification (e.g. Security+ CE, CISSP, etc.).
• Must possess Network Vendor Associate Level or higher Certification (e.g. Cisco CCNA/CCNP).
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including possible OCONUS travel.

Responsibilities

• Operate as an operations-focused Network Engineer for BAN/LAN/WAN networkOps, troubleshooting, install, cabling, and integration per approved procedures.
• Provide COMSEC Local Element support including hardware/software asset management and key inventories; handle encryption devices and related processes.
• Document work activities in established tools; maintain accurate site documentation.
• Coordinate software upgrades and changes to NGEN-R systems as directed by Domain Architects and Configuration Teams.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of hardware per SOPs and vendor guidance.
• Interface with NOC for incident troubleshooting and restoral support; manage configuration drift and network documentation.
