Job summary

Waters is seeking an Automation Service Engineer to service BD Advanced Diagnostics customers, within a defined geographic territory and nationwide as needed. The role involves on-site installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of laboratory instruments, with extensive travel and remote work capabilities.

The ASE will collaborate with service and support teams to drive revenue, coordinate system upgrades, and document all service activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or related disciplines OR 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of electronics, electro-mechanical devices (Mechatronics), PLCs, and pneumatics.
• Intermediate knowledge of information systems networking architecture design and set up.
• Intermediate understanding of computer software operating systems and ability to interface with IT personnel.
• Valid driver's license with 3+ years driving history; willing to travel up to 50%.
• Ability to lift 30–70 lbs and work 8–10 hour days.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, upgrade, and repair instruments to meet specifications.
• Drive field service revenue through preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Lead customer expectations and provide follow-up plans.
• Schedule and complete system upgrades with customers.
• Document all customer complaints in systems of record.
