Job summary

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking a commercially focused Field Applications Scientist to join the Technical Services team. This field-based role supports MA, RI, and CT with up to 70% travel, partnering with Sales to drive opportunities and provide technical guidance throughout the customer lifecycle.

You will deliver pre- and post-sales technical support, train customers, and communicate complex concepts clearly. A PhD or master's in life sciences with relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD in Life Sciences preferred or a Master’s degree with relevant commercial, customer-facing, or scientific applications experience.
• Strong laboratory background in molecular biology, genetics, genomics, sequencing, or related discipline.
• Experience supporting experimental design, sample preparation, workflow optimization, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales to support commercial opportunities and provide technical expertise throughout the customer lifecycle.
• Deliver pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including consultations, workflow discussions, training, and troubleshooting.
• Build and maintain technical relationships to drive adoption of ONT technologies.
• Deliver presentations, workshops, and training to diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with Technical Services, Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and other teams to achieve objectives.
• Develop engagement plans for strategic accounts aligned to customer needs.
