Job summary

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking a commercially focused Field Applications Scientist to drive technology adoption and customer success across the US field region. You will partner with Sales and internal teams to provide deep technical guidance, conduct training, and support strategic opportunities.

The role requires strong scientific credibility and excellent communication skills, with up to 70% travel across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

Qualifications

• PhD in Life Sciences or a Master’s with related commercial or scientific experience.
• Strong laboratory background in molecular biology, genomics, or sequencing.
• Experience supporting experimental design, sample prep, workflow optimization, and data analysis.
• Exceptional scientific communicator who can translate complex concepts for customers.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales to support commercial opportunities and provide technical expertise throughout the customer lifecycle.
• Deliver pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including consultations, training, and troubleshooting.
• Build and maintain strong technical relationships to ensure adoption of ONT technologies.
• Deliver presentations, workshops, and training to diverse audiences.
