Job summary
Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking a commercially focused Field Applications Scientist to join the Technical Services team. This field-based role covers Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, with up to 70% travel within the region.
You will support sales opportunities, provide technical guidance, and help customers adopt ONT workflows. The ideal candidate has a PhD in Life Sciences (or MS with relevant experience) and a strong molecular biology background, with excellent
Qualifications
- PhD in Life Sciences preferred, or a Master’s with relevant commercial/sci experience.
- Strong lab background in molecular biology, genetics, genomics, sequencing or related field.
- Experience supporting experimental design, sample prep, workflow optimization, and data analysis.
- Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills to translate complex concepts for customers.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales to support commercial opportunities and provide technical expertise.
- Deliver pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including consultations, training and troubleshooting.
- Build strong technical relationships to ensure adoption of ONT technologies.
- Lead presentations, workshops, and training for diverse audiences.
- Collaborate across Technical Services, Sales, Product Management, Marketing and other teams.
- Develop and execute engagement plans for strategic accounts.
