Job summary

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking a commercially oriented Field Applications Scientist to join our Technical Services team. This field-based role supports MA, RI, and CT with up to 70% travel and close collaboration with Sales and cross-functional teams to drive technology adoption and customer success.

Qualifications

• PhD in Life Sciences preferred or Master’s with relevant commercial, customer-facing, or scientific applications experience.
• Strong laboratory background in molecular biology, genetics, genomics, sequencing, or related discipline.
• Experience supporting experimental design, sample prep, workflow optimization, and data analysis.
• Exceptional scientific communicator and presenter who can translate complex concepts for customers.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales to support commercial opportunities and provide technical expertise throughout the customer lifecycle.
• Deliver pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including consultations, workflow discussions, training, and troubleshooting.
• Build and maintain strong technical relationships with customers and ensure adoption of ONT technologies.
• Deliver presentations, workshops, seminars, and training to diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with Technical Services, Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and other teams to meet objectives.
• Document customer interactions in ONT's CRM systems.
