Construction Material Testing seeks a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners, capture data on site, and deliver meshes and scan-to-CAD outputs for various construction projects. You will process data in Artec Studio, create reports, and support reverse engineering activities with Cad-ready outputs.

The role requires on-site work, travel to regional hubs, and the ability to carry equipment on active job sites.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld structured-light or laser scanner on real projects — provide examples.
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software; mesh cleanup, registration, export.
• Familiarity with CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion, Inventor, or Revit) and reading structural/fabrication drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and in industrial plants; able to carry equipment, climb, and work outdoors.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record; willing to travel and fly with equipment as assigned.
• Experience with scan-to-CAD, Geomagic Design X, or metrology reporting is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement and for damaged structures.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export to STL/OBJ/E57/CAD formats.
• Produce deviation color maps, measurement reports, crack maps, and anchor bolt reports against drawings or CAD.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering or hand-clean meshes for modeling teams.
• Document capture procedure, equipment settings, and chain of custody on forensic matters.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with superintendents and plant contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
