Zusammenfassung

Construction Material Testing is seeking a trained-operator 3D scanning technician to run handheld scanners on concrete-related projects, verify on-site data, and deliver scan-to-CAD files and reports.

You will plan scans, ensure data integrity, and process data with Artec Studio, producing meshes, reports, and coordinate maps for client use. Occasional travel to regional hubs is required.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience operating handheld 3D scanners on real projects (Artec Leo, Eva, Space Spider; or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software; mesh cleanup, registration, and export.
• Familiarity with CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion, Inventor, or Revit) and reading structural/fabrication drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and in industrial plants; able to carry equipment, climb, and work outdoors.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable record; able to travel by air if needed.
• Experience with scan-to-CAD, Geomagic Design X, or metrology reporting is a plus.
• ACI, NICET, or ICC certifications a plus; company sponsors them.

Aufgaben

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement and for damaged structures.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export to STL, OBJ, E57, and CAD formats.
• Produce deviation maps, measurement reports, crack maps, and coordinate reports.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering and fit-up checks.
• Document capture procedures, equipment settings, and chain of custody on forensic matters.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with superintendents and plant contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
