Construction Material Testing seeks a trained 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners, capture site data, and deliver mesh and CAD-ready files. You will process data on-site and in Artec Studio, ensuring accuracy before archival.

The role combines field scanning with client-ready reports and coordination with plant contacts. The ideal candidate has hands-on scanner experience, CAD familiarity, and willingness to travel to regional hubs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld 3D scanner on real projects with examples.
• Proficiency in Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software; mesh cleanup, registration, export.
• Familiarity with CAD and reading structural or fabrication drawings.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement, failed and damaged structures, corroded pipe and tanks, fabricated steel and precast, machine parts, and modular units.
• Control drift on large objects with reference features, tape-measure backbones, and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export to STL, OBJ, E57, and CAD formats.
• Produce deviation color maps, measurement reports, crack maps, pit-depth tables, and anchor bolt coordinate reports against drawings or CAD.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering and fit-up checks, or hand clean meshes to the modeling team.
• Document capture procedure, equipment settings, and chain of custody on forensic matters.
• Keep the scanner, batteries, and calibration records in order.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with superintendents and plant contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
