Construction Material Testing seeks a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners in varied environments, capture accurate data on site, and deliver scan-to-CAD outputs for projects ranging from concrete pours to machinery fabrication.

You will process scans with Artec Studio, generate reports and meshes, and ensure data integrity before client delivery. Training and opportunities to advance toward regional roles or project management are available.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld structured-light or laser scanner on real projects.
• Familiarity with Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software; mesh cleanup, registration, and export.
• Familiarity with CAD reading structural or fabrication drawings (SolidWorks, Fusion, Inventor, Revit).
• Comfortable on active construction sites and industrial plants; able to carry equipment, climb, and work outdoors.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable record; ability to travel and fly with equipment.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement and other structures.
• Control drift on large objects with reference features and overlap zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export to STL, OBJ, E57, and CAD formats.
• Produce deviation maps, measurement reports, crack maps, and coordinate reports against drawings or CAD.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering and fit-up checks.
• Document capture procedure and chain of custody on forensic matters.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with superintendents and plant contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
