Construction Material Testing seeks a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners, process data in Artec Studio, and deliver ready-to-use meshes and CAD-ready files. You will travel to regional hubs, work on active job sites, and generate reports that support client decisions.

You bring hands-on scanning experience, CAD familiarity, and a willingness to work outdoors on varied projects from rebar mats to corroded pipes, with sponsorship for relevant certifications.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience operating handheld structured-light or laser scanners on real projects.
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or similar software; mesh cleanup, registration, export.
• Familiarity with CAD and reading structural or fabrication drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and industrial plants; able to carry equipment.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record.
• Ability to travel and fly with equipment as assigned.
• Experience with scan-to-CAD or metrology reporting is a plus.
• ACI, NICET, or ICC certifications are a plus and sponsored by the company.

Aufgaben

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement and other structures.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, export to STL/OBJ/E57/CAD.
• Produce deviation maps, reports, crack maps, and anchor bolt coordinates.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering; hand-clean meshes for modeling.
• Document capture procedures and chain of custody for forensic purposes.
• Maintain scanner gear and calibration records; coordinate access and safety.
• Travel to regional hubs; assist with assignments at plants and job sites.
