Construction Material Testing seeks a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners on concrete, metal, and industrial sites, delivering scan data and CAD-ready files. You will verify data on-site, process with Artec Studio, and provide detailed reports and notes to support client decisions.

You will train in our capture procedures, manage drift control for large objects, and produce scan-to-CAD outputs while coordinating access and safety with site contacts.

Formación

• Hands-on experience operating handheld structured-light or laser scanners on real projects; provide work samples.
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software; mesh cleanup, registration, export.
• Familiarity with CAD and reading structural/fabrication drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and industrial plants; able to carry equipment, climb, and work outdoors.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record; travel and fly with equipment as assigned.
• Experience with scan-to-CAD, Geomagic Design X, or metrology reporting is a plus; certifications are a plus, sponsor available.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar, embeds, disturbed structures, and modular units.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, export to STL/OBJ/E57.
• Produce deviation color maps, measurement reports, and anchor bolt coordinates.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering and fit-up checks; hand-clean meshes as needed.
• Document capture procedures, equipment settings, and chain of custody on forensic matters.
• Coordinate access, permits, safety with superintendents and plant contacts; travel as assigned.
