Construction Material Testing seeks a trained-operator 3D scanning technician to perform handheld scans on construction sites and plant facilities. You will capture data on-site, process with Artec Studio, and deliver meshes, point clouds, and reports in client-ready formats.

Responsibilities include scan planning, drift control, on-site verification, and producing CAD-ready deliverables. Travel to regional hubs and job sites is required as assigned.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld structured-light or laser scanner on real projects.
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement, failed and damaged structures, corroded pipe and tanks, fabricated steel and precast, machine parts, and modular units.
• Control drift on large objects with reference features, tape-measure backbones, and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export to STL, OBJ, E57, and CAD formats.
• Produce deviation maps, measurement reports, crack maps, pit-depth tables, and anchor bolt coordinate reports against drawings or CAD.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids for reverse engineering and fit-up checks; hand clean meshes for the modeling team.
