Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners, process data, and deliver scan-to-CAD files for concrete and industrial projects. You will work on active sites, validate captures, and generate reports for clients with Artec Studio workflows.

Ideal candidates have hands-on scanner experience, CAD reading ability, and the stamina to travel to regional plants. Training and certification support are available as projects grow.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld structured-light or laser scanner on real projects; bring examples.
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or similar scan-processing software; mesh cleanup, registration, export.
• Familiarity with CAD drawings and reading structural or fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement, failed structures, corroded pipes, and machine parts.
• Control drift on large objects with reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, export to STL/OBJ/E57 and CAD formats.
• Produce deviation maps, reports, and coordinate reports against drawings or CAD.
