Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a skilled 3D scanning technician to perform handheld scans for various concrete and industrial projects. The role requires operating Artec handheld scanners on active sites, processing data, and delivering client-ready meshes and CAD-ready files.

You will plan scans, verify data on-site, and produce reports, deviation maps, and scan-to-CAD outputs. Ability to travel to regional hubs and work overtime when pour windows arise is expected.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience operating a handheld structured-light or laser scanner on real projects.
Familiarity with Artec Studio or similar scan-processing software.
Comfortable reading structural/fabrication drawings and working on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of concrete embeds, rebar, and structures.
Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, and mesh cleanup; export to STL/OBJ/E57/CAD.
Produce deviation maps, reports, and anchor bolt coordinates against drawings.
Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering and fit-up checks.
