Job summary

Forged Fiber is seeking a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables across our network. You will work on construction projects, perform aerial and underground splices, and ensure high-quality restoration during outages.

The role requires reading construction prints, using OTDRs and meters, and coordinating with multiple teams to meet schedules. Expect full-time hours with overtime opportunities and safety-focused procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant experience or equivalent training/experience.
• Strong reading and interpretation of construction prints, splice diagrams, and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test fiber optic cable for construction projects and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot fiber faults with OTDR, optical power meter, and related tools; document results.
• Prepare, install, audit, and repair splice cases/enclosures (aerial, buried, handholes, manholes).
• Perform dark fiber, reel, and continuity testing; restore service and maintain route integrity.
• Coordinate with crews and engineers to resolve outages and meet project schedules; provide field splicing reports.
