Job summary

Forged Fiber seeks a skilled Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction, operations and restoration across our networks.

You will read prints, use OTDRs and meters, and work outdoors in all weather with safety as a priority; coordination with crews is essential to meet project timelines. Hourly pay ranges from $34.65 to $42, based on location and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• 2+ years fiber splicing/telecom experience or equivalent training.
• Ability to read/interpret construction prints and splice diagrams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word; field documentation tools.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather; physically capable.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot faults using OTDR, meters, and documentation.
• Prepare and repair splice cases across various cable types.
• Perform testing and rehabilitation to restore service and maintain routes.
• Read and interpret design maps, permits and work orders.
• Coordinate with construction crews and partners to meet schedules.
• Document field splicing reports and use devices for work orders.
