Job summary

Forged Fiber is seeking a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables across our networks. You will work on construction projects and support restoration efforts while ensuring safety and quality standards.

The role requires reading construction prints, performing splices, and coordinating with field crews. Candidates should be able to work outdoors in all weather and lift up to 75 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant or related experience.
• Ability to read construction prints, splice diagrams, and maps.
• Proficient with fusion splicer and OTDR.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, and test fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot and isolate fiber faults using OTDR, optical power meter, and related tools.
• Prepare, install, audit, and repair splice enclosures (aerial, buried, handholes).
• Perform aerial and underground work safely and in accordance with regulations.
• Read and interpret construction prints and as-builts; coordinate with teams and document reports.
