Job summary

Forged Fiber is hiring a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across our networks. The role supports construction, maintenance, and emergency restoration, requiring reading prints and working with splicing equipment.

Applicants should possess a high school diploma, 2+ years of fiber experience, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Vancouver, WA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant or related experience.
• Ability to read construction prints, splice diagrams, and maps; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, and test fiber optic cable for construction projects and restorations.
• Troubleshoot faults using OTDR, power meter, fiber identifiers; document results.
• Prepare, install, and repair splice cases/enclosures (aerial, buried, handholes, manholes).
• Perform testing and maintenance to restore service and ensure route integrity.
• Coordinate with crews and engineers; provide detailed splicing reports as needed.
• Read As-Builts and design documents to complete work accurately.
