Job summary

Forged Fiber 37 is seeking a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and maintain fiber optic cables across construction, operations, and restoration projects. The role requires reading prints, using OTDR and power meters, and working outdoors in all weather.

You’ll collaborate with crews, perform route tests, and comply with OSHA and safety standards. Full-time, on-site in Caldwell, ID.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to read construction prints, splice diagrams, maps and diagrams.
• Strong written and verbal communication; documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot fiber faults with OTDR, power meter, scope.
• Prepare, install, audit, and repair splice cases/enclosures (aerial/underground).
• Perform dark fiber, reel, and continuity testing; complete routine repairs.
• Read prints/diagrams to complete work orders; coordinate with teams.
• Follow OSHA and safety requirements; ensure quality control.
