Job summary

Forged Fiber is seeking a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to join our Provo, UT team. You will install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables for construction, maintenance, and emergency restoration across our network.

Responsibilities include fault isolation with OTDR, meters and identifiers, plus splice case audits in aerial, buried, and manhole environments. Strong reading of prints and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams is required.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction prints and diagrams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects and restoration.
• Troubleshoot and isolate fiber faults using OTDR, power meter, identifiers, and scope.
• Prepare, install, audit, and repair splice cases/enclosures across aerial, buried, and manhole environments.
• Perform testing, documentation, and field reports; support outages and project schedules.
• Read construction prints and diagrams to guide installation and turnup activities.
• Read/prepare As-Builts and coordinate with crews and contractors.
