Job summary

Forged Fiber is seeking a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, and test fiber optic cables across construction projects. You'll troubleshoot using OTDRs and meters, prepare splice cases, and ensure route integrity while coordinating with construction crews.

The role requires reading prints and working outdoors, following OSHA and company safety standards. The position is based at 265 Lothenbach Ave, W St Paul, MN 55118, with full-time hours and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license.
• 2+ years in fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant or related work.
• Ability to read/interpret construction prints and splice diagrams.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot faults using OTDRs, meters, and inspection tools; document results.
• Prepare and repair splice enclosures across aerial, buried, and manhole work.
• Perform testing and ensure route integrity; complete field splice reports as needed.
• Read maps, diagrams, permits; coordinate with teams to meet schedules.
• Work outdoors in varying conditions and adhere to safety policies.
