Job summary

Forged Fiber in Ramsey, MN is seeking a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across construction, operations, maintenance and restoration tasks.

You will read construction prints and splice diagrams, operate OTDR and optical power meters, and collaborate with crews to meet project schedules while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant experience or equivalent training.
• Read and interpret construction prints, splice diagrams, and maps.
• Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot faults using OTDR, power meter, and other tools; document results.
• Install and repair splice cases/enclosures across aerial and underground settings.
• Perform dark fiber, reel, and continuity testing to maintain route integrity.
• Coordinate with crews and contractors to resolve outages and meet schedules.
