Job summary

Forged Fiber is seeking a Fiber Tech II to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across construction projects. You will work on aerial and underground tasks, read prints, and coordinate with field crews to maintain route integrity.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of fiber splicing/telecom experience and proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, and power meters. OSHA safety practices are essential for this role in Des Moines, IA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant experience recommended.
• Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers, and inspection scope.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot faults and document test results.
• Prepare splice cases/enclosures and perform aerial/underground work as needed.
• Read construction prints and As-Builts to support field work.
• Coordinate with crews and document field splicing reports.
