Job summary

Forged Fiber is seeking a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across construction, maintenance, and restoration tasks. You will work at multiple sites including aerial, buried and manhole installations, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting faults, reading prints, and documenting field results while coordinating with construction teams to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years telecom outside-plant or fiber splicing experience preferred.
• Must be able to read construction prints and splice diagrams.
• Proficient with hand tools and fusion splicer; familiar with OTDR & meters.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects and restoration work.
• Troubleshoot faults with OTDRs, meters, scopes, and fault finders; document results.
• Prepare and repair splice cases/enclosures for aerial, buried, and manhole installations.
• Perform aerial/underground work with safety practices; read maps and As-Builts.
• Coordinate with crews and contractors to resolve outages and meet schedules.
• Use company devices for work orders, diagnostics, and reporting.
