Job summary

Hotwire Communications seeks a Service Technician to perform quality installations, upgrades, disconnects, and troubleshooting of IP and RF video, voice and internet services, including DISH and DIRECTV.

You will handle fiber optic troubleshooting, configure routers and Wi‑Fi, install drop wires, and participate in on-call rotations. A minimum of 5 years' experience, fiber cabling expertise, and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years’ experience installing, testing and troubleshooting cable, phone and internet.
• Fiber Optic Cabling experience required.
• Proficiency with small hand tools and power tools.
• Active and clean state driver's license in state of hire.
• Comfort working on ladders and heights.
• Education: HS diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Certifications: Cisco CCT/CCENT; Microsoft MCSA.
• Willingness to work days, weekends, evenings and holidays; on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Perform reconnects, disconnects, and service changes per company procedures and safety practices.
• Troubleshoot fiber with 1310, 1490 and 1550 nm wavelengths.
• Configure routers, access points, and Wi-Fi.
• Troubleshoot IP and LAN issues.
• Install CAT5/CAT6 drop wire and connectors.
• Troubleshoot customer premises equipment from demarcation to end user.
• Test and tone all drop wires; ensure internet operation.
• Participate in on-call rotation and related duties.
