Job summary
Hotwire Communications Ltd. is seeking a Service Technician to perform quality installations, upgrades, disconnects and troubleshooting for IP and RF video, voice and internet services.
You will work on fiber optic systems, install CAT5/CAT6, configure customer equipment, and support on-call rotations while meeting company safety standards and procedures. Experience with fiber optics (1310/1490/1550 nm) and routing equipment is preferred; valid driver's license is required; high school diploma
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Experience installing, testing and troubleshooting cable, phone and internet a must.
- Fiber optic cabling experience is required and preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform reconnects, disconnects and changes of service per procedures.
- Routinely handle fiber optic troubleshooting with 1310/1490/1550 nm wavelengths.
- Administer router, access point and Wi-Fi processes for customers.
- Troubleshoot IP and LAN issues and configure customer PCs.
- Install CAT5/CAT6 drop wire and connectors; test drop wires.
- Participate in on-call rotation and work during various shifts.
