Job summary

Hotwire Communications Ltd is seeking an Installation Technician to perform fiber-optic service installation and customer training. The role covers video, voice, and internet installations, including in single-family homes, condos, and apartments.

Responsibilities include activating service, wiring, troubleshooting IP and video issues, and maintaining safety standards. A valid driver's license and 3+ years in installation are required; on-call rotations are included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Internet Technologies preferred
• Minimum 3 years' experience installing, testing and troubleshooting cable, phone and internet
• Fiber optic cabling experience required
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
• Valid state driver's license in the hiring state
• Comfortable working on ladders and heights
• Cisco/CCT or CCENT certification and Microsoft MCSA preferred
• Ability to work days, weekends, evenings, holidays and on-call rotation

Responsibilities

• Assist installation and customer activation of fiber-optic services in subscriber homes
• Install and service video, telephone, and internet
• Punch down telephone lines and install CAT5/CAT6 wiring
• Troubleshoot video, telephone and internet from demarcation to customer premises
• Troubleshoot IP issues from demarcation to customer premises
• Test and tone all drop wires from equipment room to end user location
• Work on an on-call rotation
• Other duties as assigned
