Job summary

Hotwire Communications is seeking a Service Technician to perform quality installation, upgrades, disconnects and troubleshoot IP, RF video, voice and internet services.

You will handle fiber optic troubleshooting, install CAT5/6 drops, configure routers and Wi-Fi, and work on on-call rotations. A high school diploma and 5 years of field experience are required; Cisco and Microsoft certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have 5 years’ experience installing, testing and troubleshooting cable, phone and internet.
• Fiber optic cabling experience required.
• Proficient with small hand tools and larger power tools.
• Valid state driver’s license in state where hired.

Responsibilities

• Perform reconnects, disconnects, and changes of service per procedures.
• Troubleshoot fiber optics and IP networks.
• Configure routers, access points, bridges, and Wi‑Fi.
• Troubleshoot and resolve IP issues from demarc to customer equipment.
• Install CAT5/CAT6 drop wires and connectors.
• Test and tone drop wires from equipment room to end user location.
• Work on an on‑call rotation.
• Other duties as assigned.
