Job summary

Hotwire Communications Ltd. is seeking a Service Technician to perform quality installation practices including upgrades, disconnects, and troubleshooting of IP and RF based video, voice, and internet services.

Responsibilities include fiber optic troubleshooting, router and Wi‑Fi configuration, and CAT5/CAT6 installations. The role requires 5 years of experience with cable/phone/internet installation, fiber cabling, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years’ experience installing, testing and troubleshooting cable, phone and internet.
Fiber Optic Cabling experience required.
Proficiency using small hand tools and larger power tools.
Active and clean state-issued driver’s license in the state of hire.
Comfortable working on ladders and at heights.
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred.
Cisco Certifications (CCT/CCENT) and Microsoft Certifications (MCSA) are desirable.
Ability to work days, weekends, evenings and holidays; on-call rotation as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform reconnects, disconnects, and service changes per company procedures and safety practices.
Routinely troubleshoot fiber optics using 1310/1490/1550 nm wavelengths.
Administer routers, access points, bridges, and Wi‑Fi processes.
Troubleshoot IP and LAN issues.
Install CAT5/CAT6 drop wires and connectors.
Test and tone drop wires from equipment room to end user location.
Coordinate on-call rotation as scheduled.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
