Job summary

Hornblower Corp is seeking a part-time Deckhand to monitor deck areas, assist with mooring and vessel operations, and provide a high level of customer service to passengers during ferries and events.

You will follow safety procedures, perform routine maintenance, assist with loading and unloading vehicles, and support crew in drills and daily tasks while maintaining a professional appearance.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with passengers and crew.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and follow safety procedures.
• Must possess basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Prefer prior deckhand or maritime watch-standing experience; veteran status with DD214 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor passenger and crewmember safety, ensure equipment use and guidelines are followed.
• Assist with docking, mooring lines, and vessel operations in all weather conditions.
• Support in boarding/disembarking passengers and vehicles, and assist with fuel, water, and shore power tasks.
• Perform custodial and maintenance work, and participate in drills and safety audits.
