Job summary

Hornblower Group seeks a Deckhand to monitor deck areas and passenger safety during ferry operations, both dockside and underway. You will handle lines, assist with boarding, and perform custodial and maintenance tasks while delivering high levels of guest service.

The role requires a HS diploma or equivalent, TWIC, First Aid/CPR, alcohol service certification, and strong customer service skills. You may be asked to assist with tickets, provisioning, and basic vessel upkeep as part of a dynamic

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • TWIC credential or ability to obtain.
  • First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain.
  • Alcohol service certification after training.
  • Excellent customer service and communication.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Valid driver's license and clean record.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor passenger and crew safety and ensure equipment use.
  • Participate in safety drills and inspections per USCG policy.
  • Handle mooring lines and vessel operations in all weather.
  • Sell tickets and concessions and manage cash when needed.
  • Provide guest refreshments and assist boarding/disembarking.
  • Assist with vessel maintenance and minor repairs as directed.
  • Maintain professional appearance and service standards.
