Job summary

UG2 is seeking an Assistant Service Manager in Edgewater, NJ to lead and optimize the operation of engineering, concierge, and janitorial teams. You will aim for 100% uptime, protect client assets, and implement reliability-based maintenance across building systems.

The role emphasizes leadership, safety, and continuous improvement of maintenance practices. Qualifications include substantial facility management experience, contractor oversight, and strong communication.

Qualifications

7–10 years of facility management experience in a residential environment.
3–5 years leading successful trades teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively at all levels.
Mechanical and electrical aptitude with HVAC experience.

Responsibilities

Monitors operation and maintains HVAC and other mechanical/electrical equipment; reviews logs and reports problems.
Oversees contractor activities and in-building team operations (engineering, concierge, janitorial).
Manages inventory, procurement, and supplier relations for parts and tools.
Develops QA/QC processes and maintenance programs; ensures safety compliance and training.
Supports staff supervision, scheduling, and performance development.
