Job summary

UG2 LLC in Boston, MA seeks an Engineering Manager to oversee facility operations, maintenance, and engineering services ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety of building systems supporting critical activities.

You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, manage vendor relationships, develop SOPs, KPI dashboards, and capital projects while driving preventive and predictive maintenance and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in facilities management with leadership in life science/pharma.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and lab systems.
• Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance and energy management.
• Strong project management and multi-project coordination.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Proficient in CMMS and related software.
• Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians.
• Develop and implement SOPs for facility operations and maintenance.
• Establish KPIs to drive operational excellence.
• Oversee building systems maintenance and repair, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety.
• Manage capital projects and upgrades within budget and schedule.
• Develop annual operating and capital budgets and monitor expenses.
• Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and relationships.
• Ensure compliance with safety, OSHA, EPA, and codes.
• Drive energy management and sustainability initiatives.
