Job summary

PACS is seeking a maintenance technician to sustain grounds, facility and equipment in a safe, compliant manner for our residents. You will follow maintenance schedules, perform routine repairs, and coordinate daily services with nursing staff.

The role requires basic math, the ability to follow instructions, and strong communication. You will help ensure resident comfort, report issues promptly, and keep work areas organized and safe.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education.
• Ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas.
• Ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing maintenance practices.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift or area.
• Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.).
• Service heating and cooling units/systems following manufacturer guidance.
• Follow safety precautions and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
