Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the physical plant across properties. You will monitor building systems, lead maintenance staff, schedule preventive maintenance, and coordinate with contractors to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires strong hands-on skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and general repairs, plus effective communication and customer service. A high school diploma is preferred; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong maintenance and repair skills in HVAC, cooling towers, chillers, painting, carpentry, plumbing and electricity.
• 3–5 years general experience in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance or handy work.
• Computer literacy: Word, Excel, and email.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Multilingual abilities desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure environment throughout the building(s).
• Supervises, trains and directs maintenance staff through work orders.
• Plans, monitors, and appraises job results; coaches and disciplines employees.
• Monitors repair needs and estimates time needed for repair.
• Oversees contractors and building repair/maintenance contractors.
• Maintains disaster preparedness and response plans.
• Records and evaluates preventive maintenance activities and programs.
