Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the physical plant and maintenance staff across the building(s). Responsibilities include planning, inspecting, and coordinating repairs in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general building upkeep.

The role requires strong communication, safety awareness, and the ability to manage contractors and preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong maintenance and repair skills in HVAC, cooling towers, chillers, painting, carpentry, plumbing and electricity.
• 3–5 years general experience in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance or handyman work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and email.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills; strong customer service and interpersonal abilities.
• Multilingual ability is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, secure environment across buildings.
• Supervise, train, and direct maintenance staff via work orders.
• Plan, monitor, and evaluate job results; coach and discipline staff as needed.
• Assess repair needs and time estimates; determine when expert help is required.
• Coordinate with service and repair contractors; manage materials and supplies.
• Maintain disaster preparedness and implement response plans.
• Complete repair reports and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Be on-call for emergencies and projects as assigned by the property manager.
