Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Staff Member to ensure all mechanical systems and common areas are operational, clean, and disinfected. The role involves inspecting floors and roofs, performing light carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and painting tasks, and completing daily work orders with safety as a priority.

Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related building trades experience, plus strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• 2 years general experience in building trades, repair and maintenance or handy work.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Multilingual abilities desirable.

Responsibilities

• Walk floors and roofs, report problems to supervisors.
• Follow safety precautions and maintain safe work environment.
• Maintain relationships with building staff.
• Paint common areas and touch up as needed; inspect areas to repaint.
• Complete daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintain assigned equipment in good working condition.
• Perform minor maintenance in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, flooring and other repairs per work orders.
• Operate safely and follow procedures when using new equipment.
