Job summary

FirstService Residential in Florida is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the physical plant and service operations. You will supervise staff, plan maintenance work, and ensure safety and compliance across carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and painting tasks.

The role requires 3–5 years in building trades, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. On-call duties and periodic travel may be involved as part of property management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Strong maintenance and repair skills across HVAC, cooling towers and chillers.
• Experience in painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.
• 3–5 years in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, e-mail).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer service and interpersonal skills; multilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment throughout the building.
• Supervise maintenance staff and direct work orders.
• Plan and appraise job results; coach staff as needed.
• Assess repair needs and estimate time; determine need for additional instruction.
• Monitor service and repair contractors and maintain inventories.
• Adhere to preventive maintenance schedules and document activities.
