Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the building’s physical plant, coordinate maintenance and repairs, and ensure safety and efficiency across all trades.

The role involves supervising a maintenance team, planning preventive maintenance, and communicating with the property manager to schedule tasks and respond to emergencies. Strong HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and painting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Experience in HVAC, cooling towers, chillers, painting, carpentry, plumbing and electricity.
• 3–5 years general experience in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance or handy work.
• Computer literacy: Word, Excel, and e-mail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Multiple language fluency desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure environment throughout the building(s).
• Supervises, trains and directs maintenance staff through work orders.
• Plans, monitors, and appraises job results; coaches, counsels and disciplines employees.
• Assesses repair needs and estimated time for repair; evaluates need for professional assistance.
• Monitors service contractors and building repair/maintenance contractors.
