Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Florida to oversee the physical plant and lead maintenance staff. You will monitor repairs, schedule tasks, and ensure safety across properties, with responsibilities spanning carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and painting. Expect on-call duties and collaboration with the property manager.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, documentation, and strong customer service to keep facilities in optimal condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CPO preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Strong maintenance and repair skills across HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
• 3–5 years general building trades experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; good written and verbal communication.
• Customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, secure environment across buildings.
• Supervise maintenance staff and review work orders.
• Plan and evaluate tasks; coach and discipline as needed.
• Assess repair needs and timelines; determine when specialist input is required.
• Monitor service contractors and building repairs.
• Inventory maintenance supplies and manage assets.
• Document preventive/reactive maintenance and produce reports.
• Be on call for emergencies and projects as assigned.
• Schedule work, assign tasks, and coordinate with the property manager.
• Provide proper safety training and ensure compliance.
