Job summary

AEG is hiring an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and outstanding patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that fit prescription, lifestyle, and style, ensuring proper fit and accurate measurements.

Responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, dispensing glasses, communicating with technicians and managers, and educating patients on insurance, warranty, and care. A strong customer service orientation and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE certification preferred but not required.
• Experience as an Optician (1+ year) preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments.
• Interpret prescriptions and confirm measurements for accurate dispensing.
• Enter prescription data into the EHR and ALE systems.
• Explain insurance benefits, copays, and coverage options.
• Maintain product knowledge and stay updated on lens/frame options.
• Ensure proper fit and comfort of eyewear; perform adjustments and repairs.
• Provide excellent patient service and resolve issues promptly.
