Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that fit their prescription, lifestyle, and personal style, ensuring proper fit and accurate measurements.

You will interpret prescriptions, enter data into EHR and ALE, and maintain knowledge of insurance benefits. The role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, and collaboration with technicians and doctors.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one year experience as an Optician preferred.
• HIPAA compliance experience preferred.
• Proficient PC skills including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories.
• Ensure proper frame fit, measurements, and lens dispensing.
• Enter prescription information into the EHR/ALE system accurately.
• Educate patients on eyewear care, warranties, and replacement options.
• Explain insurance benefits, copays, deductibles, and coverage limitations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice and displays.
• Communicate with technicians and managers about order status.
