Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to provide eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses, ensure proper measurements, and maintain high service standards.

Responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, entering data into EHR, educating patients on insurance, warranties, and lens treatments, and following up on orders. The role is on-site with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains all product/service recommendations.
• Receive patient handoff from technicians or doctors and identify visual needs.
• Keep up-to-date on products, rebates, lenses and frames available.
• Enter prescription data into EHR/ALE and ensure documentation is attached to patient chart.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments including coatings.
• Educate patients on eyeglass and contact lens care, warranties and coverage.
• Understand medical and vision insurance plans and benefits.
• Interpret prescriptions written by Optometrist/Ophthalmologist and ensure accuracy.
• Follow up on orders and notify patients of delivery status.
