Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to deliver expert eyewear solutions and outstanding patient care. You will help patients choose frames, lenses, coatings, and accessories based on prescription, lifestyle, and personal style.

Role requires interpreting prescriptions, updating the EHR/ALE, and guiding patients through care, warranties, and insurance details. This full-time, on-site position offers competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum 1 year optician experience preferred.
• HIPAA experience preferred.
• PC skills include MS Office, Windows and word processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service and sales experience.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and coatings.
• Interpret prescriptions from Optometrists/Ophthalmologists.
• Enter prescription data into EHR and ALE systems.
• Provide eyewear adjustments and repairs; ensure fit.
• Educate patients on care, warranties, and insurance basics.
• Maintain product knowledge on lenses/frames and rebates.
• Follow up on orders and inform patients of status.
