Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in delivering high-quality patient care. You will perform pre-exam testing, assist with diagnostic procedures, and manage appointment scheduling to ensure an efficient, patient-centered experience.

The role emphasizes accuracy in medical documentation, familiarity with eye-care terminology, and collaboration with the clinical team. Part-time position with potential for growth within an inclusive, patient-focused practice.

Qualifications

• Must have experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiar with medical terms related to eye care and able to maintain HIPAA-compliant records.
• Industry certification in CPO, CPOA or CPOT is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records in EHR and ensure compliance with policies.
• Handle patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments.
• May assist with refractions and scribing for the Optometrist.
• Schedule referrals to ophthalmologists or other specialists as needed.
• Help with end-of-day duties and practice cleanliness.
• Support clerical duties related to medical documentation.
